João Miguel Concha
João is a Portuguese artist, born in Évora and now working in Lisbon, and with a background in architecture and illustration and he has pursued regular collaborations with magazines and other editorial projects.
Recently he has moved towards a more personal approach to drawing and painting exploring gesture, imperfection and mistake. Joao continues to do theoretical and practical research concerning the connections between territories and cultural activities and the concept of ‘place’ is very meaningful to him as is his work concerning notions such as house vs. home, space vs. place or individual vs. collective.
