Fernando brazão

Born in Lisbon in 1973 and residing in Algarve for more than twenty years, Fernando Brazão  explores art and the manipulation of matter and symbols as a magickal tool for visionary knowledge and growth.

His work consists of mixed media, taking fragments of paintings and other elements and re-

arranging them in compositions that reveal other layers of meaning and feeling. He

manipulates matter and pigments in increasingly abstract compositions, where he later adds other

elements.

Fernando works on paper and canvas with different combinations of material, alternating between

intuitive and gestural action with careful planning and thought regarding composition and

meaning.
