Luís Nobre is a Portuguese postwar & contemporary artist born in 1971. Working in Lisbon he has shown his work at numerous key galleries and museums such as Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) who have featured Luís Nobre's work in the past. His work has been offered at auction multiple times and he is a sought after artist working from Lisbon as well as internationally.
He graduated from ESAD, Caldas da Rainha (PT) in 2001. Attended a PhD in Drawing, FBAUL (PT) 2012-2015.
His latest solo exhibition was From the Other Side, at the Braço Perna Gallery Lisboa , in 2025.
Luis has been exhibiting since 1994, including Seven Artists at the 10th Month1996 and Detour 2013, both at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Portugal.

In 2019\18 he was a selected artist for the exhibitions Germinal and From Other Spaces at MAAT and the Galeria Municipal do Porto.
In 2017 he took part in the group show 4 at the Cathedral, at the Idanha a Velha Cathedral Castelo Branco. In 2016 He had his second solo exhibition at the Carlos Carvalho Gallery entitled The Axis of the Compass. In 2015 he held a solo show at the Liebre Gallery in Madrid, and in 2014 he took part in Memento Mori Exhibition at the Lisbon Geological Museum. In the same year, he was part of the 18th Exhibition Programme at Carpe Diem Centro de Arte e Pesquisa in Lisbon.
Highlights in his career include his participation in the artist residency programme at Location One, NYC (USA); and Spike Island, Bristol (UK).
He is represented in various collections in Portugal and elsewhere including Culturgest Lisbon, Fundação Ilidio Pinho Porto and MAAT Lisbon.
