This limited edition print was hand-signed by artist, Jean Marzelle (1916 – 2005).
Born in 1916, Jean Marzelle studied at the school of the Art schools of Montpellier, then in Paris. His paintings were influenced by the work of Cézanne and marked by the colours of the Mediterranean light.
His aspirations, partly inherited from Cézanne, seem to develop on the basis of Fauvist colour and Cubist architecture.
In 1955, the Gallery Moderne, New York included his work in an exhibition of French artists, entitled Paris revisited, and a year later he participated in an exhibition of contemporary art in Mexico. In 1976, he executed a mosaic for the Centre des Impôts in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.

This is a limited edition print of Costumes by Sonia Delaunay (1885 –1979).
Sonia Delauney was a Ukrainian-born Jewish artist who was part of the Parisian avant-garde in the early twentieth century. With her husband the painter Robert Delaunay, she pioneered a vivid abstract style associated with the Orphism movement. In 1915, they moved to Portugal, where they shared a home with the painters Samuel Halpert and Eduardo Viana. They developed a partnership with Viana, Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, and José de Almada Negreiros whom they had met in Paris. The group set up in Souza-Cardoso’s house in Manhufe.
Her work in modern design included the concepts of geometric abstraction, and the integration of furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, and clothing into her art practice. She was the first living female artist to have a retrospective exhibition at the Louvre in 1964.
